Because I'm Terrible at Scrapbooks

The One With Sticky Paws & Look Ahead

I don’t want to start this post bragging, but I’m off today guys.

Remember how I said I want to manage my pie better?

Will has today off, so I went ahead and requested it off, too.

Wonderful decision.

I was so happy last night knowing I wouldn’t have to go into work today.

Oh, and sorry!

I’m being rude!

How was your weekend? Tell me about it!

Our weekend was nice, and it’s even better since it’s not over!

Friday night started with bloodcurdling shrieks from the garage.

Long story short, Will was out there and I left the door into the garage cracked and didn’t think much of it.

After while, he came inside and we about our normal business. About 10 minutes later, we began to hear constant ear piercing barks.

We immediately sprang into action, trying to account for the pups.

Boz was inside, but Lucy was nowhere to be found.

We quickly realized she was in the garage.

She was in the dark and going absolutely bananas, guys.

Her barks were so frantic and high pitched and stressed.

When we flipped on the light, we saw she was stuck to a glue trap!

Ugh, oh Lucy.

She was completely panicking trying to get it off, and we were obviously freaking out too because we could tell she was in pain.

Will immediately grabbed her and tried to keep her still.

Boz and Lucy both have joint problems (comes with the Maltese breed) and we were fearful of her little knees coming out of socket (they have, and it’s no fun).

While he held her, I got scissors and hurriedly went to hacking away.

Oh friends, the things you do for those you love. You wouldn’t believe the things on that glue trap.

I don’t do bugs.

Seriously- I do not do them.

And mice?

Don’t even go there.

Not only were there dead crickets and spiders completely adhered to that thing, but girls, oh girls, there was a dead baby mouse there too!

And as I wildly tried to cut part of the trap away from my poor Lucy’s paw, my hands were all over all those things.

Ugh.

Real life. Actually happened

Totally shuddering now just thinking about it.

We got the bulk cut away and were able to then gently pry her loose without any chemicals.

She was a mess, ya’ll.

She finally calmed down enough for us to clean her up and wipe her poor, sticky sore paws.

Wild Friday night at the B-Love house.

Understandably, she was wiped out after all that excitement.

Wiped out after her "exciting" day

Um, I don’t even remember what we did after that. Haha

When I think back to Friday, all I can hear is Lucy shrieking so loud my ears nearly bled, and all I can see is that dang buggy glue trap.

Saturday was pretty typical. Will went to work, and I worked out.

My legs are sore! I changed up my routine a bit (hello lunges!), and really tried to focus on my muscle contractions. I changed my tempo a bit, it made a huge difference, and I had a great workout!

I did a little cleaning, got around for the day, and headed to the grocery store.

Will was home when I got back, so we unloaded together and caught up on a couple shows.

We decided to catch a matinee, so we headed to the theatre to see Lone Survivor.

Such a good movie. So real, and so moving. I am always so thankful for our military, and this movie was another reminder of just how much our service men and women sacrifice.

After our movie, we came home and I did some food prep and we caught up on some of our shows.

Prep

We only had about 5% free space on our DVR, so we were able to clear off a few hours. We both ended up falling asleep on the couch in the midst of a CSI episode.

We’re so old.

Yesterday we were slackers and didn’t go to church. Fail. We slept in past 8, and it felt so good. We got a few things done around the house, and I headed to the gym for a quick workout.

It was so busy!

I hate busy.

I spotted a girl I’d never seen before totally killing shoulder presses with 40 pound dumbbells.

“What a stud,” I thought to myself.

I can’t seem to break 35. I can get 6-7 off with 35, and I know I could do 40 if I had a spotter, but there’s no one at the gym I’d ever really feel comfortable asking to help.

I went over and gave her props and told her I totally hope to do the same. We chatted a bit and I think we’re going to try to work out together in the next couple weeks!

I’m sort of nervous/excited about it. I’ve rarely lifted with other people.

It always seems awkward and weird, like do we do the same sets at the same time? Alternate? Stand and watch while the other does a set?

You see what I mean?

Probably not. I’m just crazy.

After my workout, Will and I took a quick trip to wash his beloved car.

Have I ever told you guys about our 3rd car?

Oh geez. I won’t today, but it’s Will’s “baby.” It’s sort of sentimental for both of us. We had it before we even got married.

And the sleazy car salesman was totally fine with me cosigning for the car as Brittny “B-Love” (Will’s last name) despite the fact we weren’t even married. Haha

Good times.

Anyway, after we washed the car, it was football time!

My dad came over to watch the game, while I went over to see my mom, sister, and Layla.

P and Layla were napping when I got there, so I got to chat with my mom about recipes, cooking and getting stuff done in the evenings. I enjoy hearing what others do for dinners.  I always walk away with tips and ideas for my own dinners!

Layla woke, and I had fun playing makeup and cooking, and blocks. She just gets cuter.

After the Bronco’s game, I came home and made dinner. I made Will some super delicious football food for the 49ers game:

Football fare

Looks pretty. I also made some brownies. I wish I could tell you I didn’t sample any, but yeah, I totally did. They were delicious.

Today is all about relaxing and spending time together. I got a good workout in, and now I’m ready to tackle the day.

Here’s a look at what I’ll be sharing this week:

-A one minute dessert (it’s true!)
-New Year, New Challenge WIOW

-January Ipsy Review

-And how I’m a total broken record

Check in tomorrow for more fun. Now I’m off to enjoy my day! <3
