Because I'm Terrible at Scrapbooks

Christmas Recap

I realize I have inundated you with Christmas memories, pictures, and stuff ALL WEEK LONG, and I am here to tell you today is no different.

I’m sorry, I’m sorry!

Please indulge me just one last time this year so I can make sure to recap some of the highlights.

This was my 12th Christmas with Will and, well, they all sort of blur together after awhile, so it is important to recap!

Alright, here are some of the highlights over our extended weekend.

Will won second place in his Fantasy Football league, which means prize money!

We saw the Hunger Games on “Christmas Eve Eve.” We also bought a sixth dining room chair that will probably end up in the office.

New chairs!

It’s just nice to have it if we need it, and the fabric patterns change so much we figured we better buy it while we still could. Merry Christmas to us!

Afterward, we had a nice dinner at The Cheesecake Factory with my family.

Cheesecake Factory!

Christmas Eve brought more time with my family.

We went over mid-morning and exchanged gifts. This year we decided to focus more on stockings, which ended up being so much fun! Will and I made out very well.

My sister and I unknowingly got each other very complimentary gifts, too! Since I am a vegan “hippie,” as she likes to tease, she got me a variety of cool tooth powders homemade on Etsy. It’s something I’ve been curious about, but would probably have never tried it myself. They’re surprisingly great! I might have to do a review sometime soon.

I got her a gift card so she could get stuff for the house, and then these super wonderful ultra-strength teeth whitening trays I bought from my dentist! THEY ARE SO GREAT. I had a four extra, so Will is going to use two, and I will have two. I am definitely going to post about these soon.

We got my mom a Keurig, she loved it.

Layla was very distracted by all the gifts and didn’t open all of them until days later, which I think drove her mom crazy. smile

Christmas Eve

They held a purse intervention for me. Mine is, um, hideous, embarrassing, and about to fall apart, slightly worn so my mom and sister picked out a new one for me. Yeah, I should probably act 30 now, right?

We ate.

A ton.

Such a good day!

Christmas Day was nice too!

Most of the time, Will and I spend our Christmas money on a collective item. For example, we got our dining room chair, we need a new mower (thrilling haha), and are also looking to upgrade our “fleet” this coming year (ie buy a new car). We also want this couch super badly. How beautiful, right?

So, that’s what we have our eye on as a slightly belated Christmas gift to each other.

We spent the day with Will’s family, which started off with a big brunch full of deliciousness.

Afterward, we exchanged gifts. Will’s grandparents always get all the grand kids stockings, but this year there were NO fuzzy socks!

I almost cried.

Thankfully, my mom had me covered and got me some the day before.

I’m such a grandma.

We chatted and had a wonderful time, and before we knew it , it was time to head home.

The night was full of putting stuff away and getting ready for work the next day. What a drag, right?

Nonetheless, my five days off were wonderful. Absolutely wonderful, and just what I needed.

I hope you guys had a great Christmas too! Enough of my boring recaps… well except Monday which is usually a recap… but hey- that’s standard. smile Enough of these EXTRA recaps.

More to come.
