Because I'm Terrible at Scrapbooks

Flash Cards for Old Ladies

So I’m going to let you guys in on a little something.

I’ve been trying to memorize more scripture. I find it incredibly powerful and helpful in facing circumstances that come my way. I also love being able to pray scripture, too.

But truth be known?

I’m having a hard time.

Aaaand as I’ve mentioned a million times, I also have a hard time being still.

So naturally, I have like 200 verses I want to memorize this month.

Easy breezy.

But let’s be real. It’s no good for me to want to memorize scripture and then get overwhelmed trying to memorize a million verses all at once.

So I implemented a plan and wanted to share it with you!

Each week I am going to post a scripture note card that you can print, cut, and place wherever you’ll see it.

Just like flashcard when we were kids.

Only less annoying and something we want to do instead of have to do.

My plan is to put the flashcard at front of my calendar at work so I see it each and every day and can’t help by to commit it to memory.

At the end of the week, I’m going to punch a hole in the top left corner and place it on a key ring.

Ah- you see where this is going?

What good is it if I memorize it and never look at it again, right?

Anyway, I’m going to do that each and every week, also taking time once a week to review past cards. The goal will be for me to memorize one verse a week for the rest of the year, while rounding up a pretty key ring full of memory verses to keep my memory fresh.

I realize this is my goal and not yours, but I figured I would throw it out there for any of you that struggle with an old lady memory like I do.

Plus, a little meditation on positive thoughts can go a long way into changing an outlook.

Feel free to join along and memorize these verses with me. I can assure you it will not be something you will ever regret, and will likely leave you feeling uplifted. Sounds like a winner to me. smile

So here’s what you need:

Index cards
Hole Punch
Key ring

Here’s what you do:

Print out the verse for each week. Cut it out, and glue it to an index card.

Memorize the verse. smile

At the end of the week, punch a hole in the card and place it on a key ring.

Repeat each week. smile

Enough chattering, here’s this week’s verse:

Let’s get to it! <3
