So funny - me and B used to order Papa Johns all the time in college - the garlic butter dipping sauce is the absolute best YUM!

Don’t you just love the garlic butter?  Oh, and have you tried the Red Baron garlic crust?  It is so much better than the classic.  DH and I had one for dinner last night!  Hehe!

It is probably something they add to the ice cream, like carraghean. Try eating homemade ice cream and see if it bothers you. I have a feeling that you will do all right with homemade ice cream.
