I'm Mrs. Oh My Gosh That Brittny's Shameless

His Mom Was Amish

"What kind of dessert do you want for the Super Bowl Will?”

“I don’t know…

A pie is fine I guess.”

“You don’t seem to be that excited. I could make some cookies or something.”

“Nah.. you made cookies last week. I sort of want something different.”

“I could make something with reeces and brownies and pudding...”

Will whipped his head around and looked straight at me.

“You… you could do that?” he asked, as if to say this talk was sacrilege and simply too wild and crazy.

“Of course!”

(all awestruck) “What’s it called?”

“A trifle.”

He was amazed the rest of the day at the fact that you could combine all his favorite things into one dessert.

I don’t think he got out much as a kid…

Recipe now.  Please.  You know we have Amish that live near here?  They are WILD--for real.  I think it is called Rumsrping or something close to that.  The Amish kids are let loose and then get to decide for themselves if they want to go back to the community.  WILD.  and now I want pudding.  And Reeses

Amanda is right...it’s Rumspringa or something...and our Amish girl and her brother are IN IT NOW!  They like date and go to all these parties and drink and stuff!  It’s hilarious!

And the adult amish, they’re pretty wild too.  At the local bar they’re always trying to hustle you into betting them at pool to take your money.  “I really am no good!” Riiiiiight.

Once we caught a bunch of girls DANCING ON THE POOL TABLE.  Kid you not!

AND ONCE we had a REALLY wild girl when I was young (though she was like the.best.babysitter.ever...cookies, walks, she even taught me somc Dutch!) and she would tell stories of dressing up in her English friends’ clothes and driving their cars...and she snuck in a camera once and took a pic of my dad’s butt as he was kissing me goodbye before work!

I KNOW!!!  The amish!  They are WILD!

I <3 the Amish!  I made a cake last night...found the recipe on pioneer woman...it is SO good and SO easy to make...everyone loved it.

Reese’s, brownies and pudding pretty much sounds amazing. I too have never heard of this marvelous confection, but it sounds like I could potentially eat it by the handful. And apparently there’s a market for an Amish Girls Gone Wild franchise. I never knew that seductresses were hiding under those bonnets and culottes!

Haha - AWESOME!

I’m a horrible wife.  I haven’t cooked/baked since BEFORE we moved.

I seriously cannot WAIT to be in the condo so I can make appies and desserts and have a housewarming/martini/wine party.  Feel like making a trip up to Calgary in July?!

Now are you sure that was a “that can be made” surprise in his voice and not a “you, specifically you, can make something like that, and without a formal receipe”?  I could so see it going either way.

Hahaha, too funny!  I love trifles!  My favorite is one called “dirt” with oreos, cream cheese, cool whip, and vanilla pudding.
