I'm Mrs. Oh My Gosh That Brittny's Shameless

Business Class

I fly out of Oklahoma tomorrow morning before the sun comes up.

Why is it that even when you’re flying before the majority of normal people are even waking you have to be at the airport at least an hour early to check in?

I think that’s ridiculous.

So much so that I want to arrive a little later tomorrow- but Will won’t let me.

Because he’s boring and isn’t a risk taker like I am (ha ha).

I’ve never flown for “business” before.

Granted the entire human public probably has at least one, but for some reason I’ve been thinking about it like its something really fun and grown up.

You know- because waking up before God, applying your make-up in the car, and sitting next to all sorts of weirdos “on business” is LOADS of fun.

Ha.

Every time Will and I would fly in the mornings I would cringe at all the “business people” travelling around us. Obnoxiously talking extra loudly on the phone- informing the entire world of their latest win or new business prospect. Their gigantic laptop bags the size of a large marsupial. The way that none of them ever.use.mints…

Cringe.

Retired blogger Sarah is a frequent business traveler (and never violates any of the abovementioned annoyances, I’m sure) and I’ll never forget her trick for how to cope with a smelly nearby passenger- she puts nice smelling lotion under her nose and it fights the funk for the flight’s duration. It makes me laugh every time when I think about it (I’m not sure why), but it’s a very good and practical idea. One I would highly recommend. As someone who has used it many times myself I will say it works amazingly- unless you’re on a transatlantic journey. Then? Not so much. You’re pretty much on your own on that flight. Every stinky man for themselves.

Was flying ever fun to you? When I was little it was a big deal and so.much.fun. Now it’s the biggest frustration that keeps me from where I am and where I want to be.

It is right about here -> in which I would be extremely positive and try to think of fun and exciting ways to make flying bearable. But yeah- why tease ourselves? It’s just a day trip, so the nice thing is that I’ll be able to sleep in my own bed.

Instead of lamenting over getting up at 1:58- I’ll watch The Mentalist, try to enjoy my two hours of sleep, and anticipate my 8:00 Venti Skim Latte. On business.

Venti Skim Lattes.

Heart.

Tomorrow will be great, I know it.

And hey- if nothing else it will provide a plethora of blogable material.

Have fun!  I’ve never flown for business either, so you’re not the only one.  My husband does it all the time and he hates it.  The only thing he likes about getting to the airport early is that he typically gets a relatively close parking spot (he drives himself and bills his company for the parking).  I hope you don’t have to sit next to anyone stinky, or behind someone who wants to recline their seat into your lap.  That’s my flying pet peeve.

I’ve never flown for business either.  I’d tell someone to take that job and SHOVE IT.

Flying hasn’t ever been fun for me.  I hate to fly.  It’s not a terrorism thing, it’s a control thing, I think.  I.hate.flying.  Like a lot.  Like drug-me-up a lot.  smile

GL on not getting a stinky seatmate!

I flew for business once.  It was the first time I’d flown in 10 years and I was scared to death but had to play it cool in front of the coworkers.  We were going down to the customer service office to tell them how bad they sucked, and we got to laugh at them because they’d all been busted on the news for having a “three martini lunch”.  So that part of the trip was fun.

Now flying is not so bad but I’d rather teleport.

make sure you sit next to someone nice, rich, and old so he buys you perfume from the duty free.

I hope your trip goes well!  I’ve never flown for business, and can actually count the number of plane rides I’ve had on my fingers (exactly 10 times!!  thats it!!), so its still pretty exciting for me.  As long as I’m there super early and know that nothing is going to go wrong.  One of my biggest fears in life is missing a plane.  Not really sure why its that big of a deal for me, but it is.  smile Anyway, have fun and I’ll cross my fingers that there are no smelly people for you to deal with.

I’ve never gone anywhere for work.
I realized I wrote, “have a good drive” on FB last night - I just wanted to illustrate my complete lack of knowledge of the geography of the US smile Haha!
Can you nap on the plane?  I can’t.  Ever.  I can’t even sleep in cars.  It makes long trips suck even more for me.
I hope you have a good trip - but bring back one good story for us, k?

I love traveling for work. I feel so efficient. I just bring one little drag-along bag and a handbag, wear a fancy track suit and easily removed slip-on sneaker type shoes (with socks) and have little snacks tucked away for the flight. I dring 7&7s and read entire books. I adore it.

I did have one horrible travel experience once: Me and Lee missed the flight to my best friend, Allison’s, wedding and we have to from NJ to NC through the night to be there by noon the next day. Some maid of honor I am. But, we made it - with out her finding out - and all ended well.

Fancy fancy!  Hope you had a nice flight, and a non-stinky, non-obnoxious seatmate

Hope the business trip went well!

Hope your trip went well.  I always feel a little more “grown up” when I take business trips too, even though they’re always a huge pain and I dread going on them.  I think day trips would be better though, mine are always overnighters.

Never even set foot in an airport!

Hope the trip went well!!

I want to do a business class so I can own a business. So what type of business class should I take? I was thinking business administration.
