I'm Mrs. Oh My Gosh That Brittny's Shameless

A Steamy Load of Crap

So I get this big fancy new blog and am so in love with it that I have this continual urge to post even when I have nothing to say. This is not something new to me, oh no. I did it all the time on the nest, and called it something fancy like, “Monday Update” or “Hodge Podge” or whatever- but the truth is that it should have been titled “A Steamy Load of Crap Wrapped in Pretty Pink Celophane Because I Want to Post and Have Nothing to Say but Want to Make it Look Like I Do.”

So, I decided I should be honest on this blog. Instead of giving the appearance of a “real post (by the way, what is a “real post” anyway?),” I’m going to level with you and let you know up front- hence today’s pretty post title. If you’re finished reading (since I’ve already been up front with you)- see you tomorrow, but if you’re not, click here.

Isn’t that the funnest feature ever!? See- I’m not boring, right!?

I’m thankful it’s Monday- the Kuwait hump day. The biggest stuff going on in my life is mostly work related, and we all know how that can turn out (ie: Dooce), so no work talk. We’re getitng a new manager tomorrow- I always hate the unknown. Hopefully it will all work out.

Will just called me to tell me the PX is selling PlayStation 3. Can I just vent about that for a second!? Seriously! I was so mad when I found out the price of a PS3! My heart hurt for kids.

ha ha- yes, because EVERY KID needs a PS3. I’m not really saying that, trust me, I think kids should be playing outside, but hopefully you’ll get my point.

Do you guys remember growing up what was cool that you just had to have? The Barbie Dream House, the life size poster of Zach Morris, the entire Cabbage Patch Kid Collection…

I can think of a lot, but the first thing that came to mind were Doc Martens. Those were the only shoes I was “allowed” to wear in junior high and some of high school. I remember talking to this one kid about “Docs” (yeah- we were so cool we even had to shorten the name) and he told me how he wanted a pair so bad, but his parents couldn’t afford it.

Ugh- can I please cry and give this guy my shoes right now!?!?!

Anyway, I can just imagine the pressure on parents these days as it is- let alone feeling bad for not being able to give your kids a WAY overpriced piece of mindnumbing, obese-creating equipment!

Hmm- I meant this rant to go differently…

I guess I’m just saying it’s sad to me that Sony has driven the price up so high that “normal” families can’t afford to surprise their children with a PS3 for their birthday, you know?

Okay, I feel a little better now.

Gym day today. I really need to get my measurements and body fat taken again, but I’ve been spooked ever since the last time I went and got balled out by the Nurse Who Weighs Nothing. Seriously, I gained 2 pounds, but lost 3% of my body fat and inches all over my body and she couldn’t understand why I wasn’t too worried about the weight gain. We went round and round and finally I just gave up and decided I would let her think I was fat.

The same holds true this time. I’ve gained more weight (which can be really depressing when you see the number on the scale!), but I feel a lot leaner now. Did you know one pound of fat takes up 5 times the space of one pound of muscle!? I really want to know what my body fat is right now (my goal now is to be around 22-24%, and from my ultimate goal is 18%), but I’m really scared I’m going to sike myself out or something. Maybe I’ll go Thursday. Maybe I wont go Thursday… Such a quandry!

One of the ladies that works there used to be big into weight training and she said if I wanted she could do a free weights program for me. The whole thing freaks me out though. I like what I know, plus the machines are sort of fool-proof. Free weights are trickier (but probably better), and it’s scary to change! We’ll see. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try!

Will and I are totally loving Prison Break. We bought the first season 2 weeks ago and are almost done with it! We save them for our weekend viewing since you can’t just watch one and be done. Hopefully the second season will be out soon. It’s so addiciting! The last two Wednesdays have been dubbed Pizza and Prison Break Wednesday. If only we had more episodes to watch. After this week it will just be Pizza Wednesday. It just doesn’t have the same ring.

Okay, well, I think I’m about all talked out now! What a shock. Welcome back to work! I look forward to reading about your weekend!

Neat feature!  I was so confused when it said “read more,” I thought I would be redirected back to the nest or something haha.

We have pizza night on Friday too! ... Not that Wednesday is Friday but it sort of is.  Just thought I’d share that commonality.

I wish gym membership was cheap here.  There is no way I’m going to pay $59 a month to sweat my butt off. haha Yes I am cheap ... I’m also one of those kids that couldnt afford the “Docs” and never ever had any sort of video games.  The first time I played nintendo (I dont even know how to spell that) was my junior year in high school at a friend’s house.  It was hilarious how clueless I was.

Anyway ... note to self:  this is not an email, this is NOT an email.

Sorry for rambling!

Have a lovely evening!

That was the best steamy load of crap! Welcome back!

That’s so funny thinking back to all of things you just had to have as a kid. We thought we were so cool because we had a super nintendo. Oh yeah. We loved that thing. ( funny thing-my sisters and I get together and still play this thing) it was addictive then....and still is!

Maybe once Lucas is here I need to start working out. I want to do SOMETHING. I just don’t know what yet. But I AM getting back to what weighed when I got married. That’s the goal. I just don’t know where to start!

FINALLY! I just figured out how to comment on your blog! (I guess I’m special, as in short bus special!). i hate that kids are so pressured to have the “in” stuff just to be accepted. i was outfitted by walmart until about 7th grade when i got my very first pair of levi’s! now kids have to have 100 abercrombie jeans are they’re shunned! i hope public schools have uniforms by the time my kids get there because i’m sure i can’t afford private school.

Good to finally have you back! I have missed your adventures...I’m sure we missed some good stories with the pups, but I think the poop-eater post made up for it. smile

Have a great day.

I do love that little “click here” feature.  Since my posts often go quite long, I might have to figure out how to do that…

anyway - i am proud of you for your working out.  I think I found the body fat you lost.  after not working out in any regular fashion since October, I have gained at least 5 pounds, and just feel flabbier all around.  I need to get back into some sort of routine or something.  I just don’t have the motivation without forking over $75 a month to be in shape.

thanks for updating so regularly; even if it is only about your husband popping your zits.  truth be told, some of our most intimate times are me doing a bacne check for James… love it!

and as for the PS3 thing… I am so thankful that our kids don’t ask for that stuff, and although Jesse does like video games, he has one at his mom’s and that is good enough.  i can’t get past all the sex and violence that’s in even the unassuming games like Guitar Hero… oh well....

i’m all confused and am posting under a post that is not relevant but oh well..i’m commenting on “poop patrol”

lol! i can only laugh. i caught Hershey doing that once and wanted to retch. i have also caught him lickin gup his own vomit...and alhthough i got him fixed nearly a month ago he still wakes me up int eh nite with a wierd licking noise...as he...um...pleasures himself. its all quite gross and embarassing. really.

lol. . .PS3. . .Well Gary joking ly said once “wow, look at all those idiots standing in line for them” at christmas time and I think that closed the coffin on that one. Besides the one time I think he did ask about getting one after they had been out for a while I mentioned all his toys that he already has and never plays with on a regualr basis: PS2, Xbox, 4wheeler, snowmobile....and hundreds of diecasts. I’ve not heard a peep about it since, lol.

That was sneaky sneaky! tongue wink I just have to say that you make me want to go run five miles and then run another five miles!  I don’t know why but I feel so motivated to work out every time you talk about working out.  It makes me actually sad that I’m at work and not able to hit the gym. LOL LOL  And I can tell that you have gotten smaller.  (Not saying that you were fat or anything.) I can just tell from past pictures and the pictures you have up now that you have lost weight and definitely inches.  Keep up the good work!  grin Don’t let that lady make you feel like you’re fat.  I would LOVE to look like you!  cheese

Good job on going to the gym!  I can’t wait until Cade is born and I can start working out!  I want to lose this baby fat really fast! smile Hopefully it works!  Don’t let the lady make you feel bad..you’re not fat at all!  I had a dr. appointment where the doctor was complaining because I’d gained too much weight, but she wasn’t exactly skinny herself, so why did she have a right to gripe at me??  Grr.. smile

That is a cool feature!

Great job on the weight loss.  How your clothes fit and how you feel are much better measures than those numbers on that scale.  You’re obviously dealing with an ignoramus at the gym given that your body fat went down even with the increase on the scale.

I would definitely take the free weight lady up on her offer.  They really do so much more for you because you can’t cheat as much with them.  smile Give it a try...you might like them!

Good luck with the new manager…

No matter what you can always make me smile.  I know I have told you that a million times, but it is true.  I am back on a work out kick again.  I am hoping to drop the rest of the baby weight and save my back!!! You look great and that nurse needs to get off your back!!!

I agree with you that kids need to play outside!!! I can remember never being in the house when I was little!!!!

Have a great week!!!

Ugh, for me it was K-Swiss shoes in middle school. I remember begging my Mom to get a pair and then we changed schools and it was something else. Those poor parents indeed!

Muscle weighs more than fat, hit the nurse!

Prison Break is almost as addictive as blogging, glad you’re a fan too!

Can I just say one more time that I’m sooo glad you’re back!  I totally missed readin’ about what was goin on in your life!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOOVE Prison Break!  Wentworth Miller is a hottie!!!  Oh, how I wish it were still on right now!  Stupid season finale!
