A Series of Short Posts: 26 Feb 08: Say Hello to God

Okay Guys- please be sure to say hello to God today.

I’m doing Purpose Driven Life again this year and am once again reminded that to be more intimate with God we need to be more aware of the fact that He is always with us.

So, I’ve been really trying to take him everywhere. I even made Will tell him hello at dinner the other night. I know it sounds silly, but it’s been this open-ended conversation for about a week now and it’s really nice.

Although, I think people think I’m slightly schizo when I’m talking “to myself” when I’m in the car.

So- tell God hi in the Share the Love block!

Good Morning God. Forgive me for only half reading my Bible last night as my eyes shut. And also for not working as hard as I need to be right now. And if you could somehow take that piece of 65% cocao dark chocolate off of my hips i’d appreciate it. and my dog--oh the dog--give him a brain in his little head please. and also please make my sewing machine and embroidery machine not mock me when i sit down at it this evening. oh, and forgive me for falling asleep while i was praying last night...you remember the other stuff from the night before, right?

wait...i was supposed to just say hi. I guess I should save this other stuff for a more private conversation.

I talk to God in the car all the time.  It’s really where we have our most honest conversations (well, He’s always honest, I really meant me).  It’s the first thing James and I do when we wake up in the morning… I would imagine our day would be a lot harder if it weren’t the first thing and last thing we do every day.

My great grandma was known for talking to God all the time.  She would do the open ended convo thing whenever she had something to say.
