Can I just start off this post saying the stuff below has no political implications. Put the knives down people!! I’m not takling politics! I’d be excited for this opportunity no matter who was in office!
Now- having said that-
Guess who I’m having dinner with tomorrow night!?
GUESS!
If you guessed the couple I’m obssessed with right now, you’re wrong.
The person I’m having dinner with is almost as wonderful as them, but not quite.
I’m having dinner with Laura Bush! The First Lady herself!
.........
Okay, I’m totally lying.
But it could happen. She’s in Kuwait right now (if you care, click on “Kuwait” for the full story). I think she’s out meeting troops at one of the camps today, but I’m not sure. I know she hasn’t come to mine yet, darn it!
Yeah, yeah, I know you all “hate” (ha ha, although for some of you, the “ “ may need to be taken out because you really do feel that strongly!) the President and you’re throwing up your Starbucks vegetable quiche right now, but I don’t care. I heart Laura Bush.
There I said it!
I <3 Laura.
I was thinking about calling up the Secret Service and seeing if the First Lady will be available at 7:00 tonight for dinner at Pomodoros.
Hmm- do you think Laura likes Italian food? I hope so.
Maybe we should go fancier…
Hmm…
Anyway- we'll discuss what book she's reading now, all the fun events she's going to while she's in Kuwait, and what she really thinks about some of the First Ladies in the past.
I could take her to some of the souks here and we could buy her a huge and absolutely gorgeous Arabic dining table. I’m sure it’d be perfect for all the special guests that eat with the Bush family.
What else could we do guys?? I feel like a really boring hostess!
I wonder what Laura likes to do on her down time? I bet sitting on the couch watching King of Queens isn’t one of them. Maybe it’s my duty to show her a slower pace of life while she’s here? What do you think? I’d even let her pick between Papa Johns and Pizza Hut. I’m such nicey.
Or-
I could just sit at home with Will and eat Papa Johns while we watch a few Everybody Loves Raymond.
That’s not too bad either.
I guess it’s always good to have a back-up plan incase my plans with Laura fall through.
So, say what you will about the administration’s policies- I’m going to show The First Lady a wonderful time in Kuwait!
Okay, or not.
I’m off to (hopefully) have a good and work free weekend.
Say a prayer that in the next 30 minutes I’m not told I have to come in.

Too funny. Here’s hoping you don’t have to work this weekend!!
