Because I'm Terrible at Scrapbooks
OU Obsession

Tuesday Things, 30 Sept 14

I broke down and started taking allergy medication.

I know. You’re probably wondering why I waited.

Yeah, yeah, I know.

Historically it’s made me feel worse over the years. However, at this point I’m not sure I could get worse, so in a moment of weakness I got all crazy and slammed an allergy pill.

It’s getting wild around here ya’ll.

This Pure Protein Bar
This.

Before Quest Bars were all the rage, Pure Protein was my go to bar for snacks on long road trips.

I had a couple coupons to use the other day and picked up some of their new flavors. I got a salted caramel one I have yet to try, and then this dark chocolate coconut one. It is delicious!

Sometimes when I stay up past 10, I send wacky text messages to my sister

Deep thoughts with my adult "kid" sister

Actually happened.

But seriously- she can still do a cartwheel.

I feel like since I workout, I should still be able to do one too, but then I realize working out does not necessarily equate to being able to flip your entire body over your head.

So yeah. No cartwheeling.

12 graphs that show why people get fat

Interesting read.

Something weird is happening...again

It never fails. At some point in any given year, I suddenly remember I don’t hate doing static cardio.

Sometimes.

Just like every year before, it’s back again.

I find it crucial to take advantage of the opportunities when this bug bites, because it doesn’t last forever!

I’ve logged lots of steady state cardio over the last few weeks and have also listened to lots of good podcasts. Double win.

Our DVR is full of shows
As usual, we tape a million series and never get around to watching them all because of our schedule.

We keep up with our favorites, but a lot of times we don’t even watch some until the Christmas lull when they show reruns for weeks on end.

More importantly, can we please talk about how this is the last season of Parenthood? It’s pretty much my favorite show and I’m totally bummed. It’s like the last show about “life,” everything else is about cops, mysteries, unrealistic dramas. Can’t we just have a regular old show about life??

Sheesh.
Obviously I’m very close to this. smile

The Sooners are on the road to TCU this weekend

The horned toads are getting all crazy and doing a purple out Saturday.

I can only hope the sooner fans travel well and wear the most Crimson of reds.

I can’t think of many colors that clash worse. smile

That’s it for today.

Any randomness you care to share?

Tuesday Things, 16 Sept 14

Last Friday I got all Laura Ingalls Wilder and made my own homemade fabric softener.

Only, unlike my Little House on the Prairie kindred spirit, I didn’t wash my clothes over a wash board,

outside,

in 100 degree heat.

But still.

Laura Ingalls over here, y’all.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe that makes 12 cups of fabric softener, and it only cost me $3.50 (!!!).

Real life.

My dad kills the drums, guys.

After two years of watching others play in a local drum-off, he finally entered the contest and I’m so excited for him! I can’t wait to watch his set, and am hoping for a win!

The Sooners are on the road this week for their first big road test.

I’m looking forward to an evening on the couch eating healthy football fare and cheering from home.

I love home games, but an away game every now and then is a treat.

I can tell autumn is just around the corner.

Not because of the cooler temps or changing leaves, but because I’m craving my pumpkin protein bars and limited time coffees.

Happening.

Aaaand I got the first scratches on the car last week.

True story.

I was sick, and Will was sicker.

If you’re wondering, yes, I spent some time in the doghouse.

Sooo, in a complete subject change, I missed the Miss America pageant Sunday but can’t stop hearing about Miss New York’s talent act.

I fully understand the hubbub about it, but I’m not gonna lie, finding out she won with that suddenly made me want to dust off my old kazoo and give it a go.

Anything’s possible.

That’s it for today! Check in tomorrow for fall football fitness goals. smile

The Birthday, Tennessee Defeat & Look Ahead

Thanks for checking in! Today is all about last weekend, and what’s up ahead this week.

Let’s get moving!

I was off Friday, so in addition to working out and grocery shopping, I did lots of laundry and even made my own homemade fabric softener. Woo hoo!

Homemade fabric softener

My dad’s birthday was Friday, so we got to spend some time with my family.

Dad's birthday!

(and also had birthday cake smile )

Dad's birthday!

It was a homemade ice cream cake and so very good.

I know I say it all the time, but I’m thankful they live so close!

Saturday morning I hit the gym and worked legs. I also ran jogged trotted intervals on the treadmill.

I want to tell you I ran, but yeah, what I did could not be called running. smile

Saturday was all about game day!

Ah girls I can’t tell you how much I enjoy big games at OU. There’s so much energy everywhere you turn!

The weather was beautiful, which was an extra bonus. We striped the stadium (except the students, who all wore red) and came loud. The game was super fun, and the win was better.

OU-Tennessee striped stadium

Will started feeling badly during the game, so we left early.

Which means he really didn’t feel well! He hates leaving big games.

We still got home late, and slept in yesterday morning. Will was still under the weather so we did church online and he rested all day.

I managed to get my food prep done for the day, workout (including the aforementioned cardio), and a few other things around the house.

I also managed to watch some football with Will.

Another Monday starts, and we are kicking off another long week, but I have some fun things on the horizon.

Here’s a look at what’s ahead this week:

-Tuesday things (and a fabric softener recipe!)
-Fall workout goals
-Things I’m Loving Thursday
-Ezra chapter one

It’s gearing up to be a busy week, but I’m looking forward to fun things here. Off and away we go, Monday!

Check in tomorrow!

The Sleepover One & Look Ahead

Hey sweets!

How is it already Monday?!

Seriously!

This weekend flew by, and I’m beginning today wondering just where the heck it went!

Before we get to Friday night, can we please laugh at how many beverages I have handy on any given Friday!?

Drinking problem

Camel.

I think there’s literally about 100 ounces of liquid between all these cups.

Moving on…

Friday night Will’s dad came to stay with us! He and Will went to the OU-Tulsa game Saturday, so he stayed with us so they could leave out together early the next morning.

We ate dinner and talked about his days growing up in Tulsa. He has lots of good stories.

Saturday morning started early. I hit the gym while Will and his dad headed to Tulsa.

Later that morning I went to Life Church to gather together with hundreds of other women for SISTERS! It’s a yearly event where women gather together for a time of worship and teaching.

This year Amy Groeschel spoke, and I was so blessed. She had such a gentle demeanor, yet is still able to command a crowd. I love her and I love her heart!

She spoke about standing firm in this day and time. To yield to God daily, and resist the devil.

Afterward I came home and got some stuff done and then headed to P’s for a sleepover party! Woo hoo!

We had such a fun time. We didn’t so anything exciting but it was just fun hanging out and not having anywhere to be afterward.

We are pizza, watched The Wiggles, contemplated the YouTuber “Disney Collector” (who is this chick and is anyone else creeped out?), and explored bizarre beauty rituals. Real life.

Girls night

Far different than our Chicago sleepovers, but still so fun in their own right.

Oh- and we had the most delicious pie EVER for breakfast. It was like a team of grandmas got together and created the most heavenly version of every berry pie imaginable, combined it, and tripled the butter and sugar.

Best.pie.ever

Dead.

Thankfully (?) we shared the piece so I didn’t feel as terribly afterward.

I am so glad we hung out and I can’t wait until we can again!

I came home to a house full of men. Will’s dad stayed Saturday night too, and wasn’t feeling the greatest so he ended up sleeping a little longer and having breakfast with us.

He got on the road late morning and Will and I kicked off the afternoon watching football and prepping for the week ahead.

I also managed to do Insanity. I will say pie isn’t the best pre-workout fuel. smile

Another long week ahead, but thankfully I have some fun stuff coming up!

Let’s take a look at what’s coming up this week:

-Tuesday Things
-Everything Works, Nothing Works Forever
-Things I’m Loving Thursday
-An intro to Ezra

That’s all my friends! Check in tomorrow!

Tuesday Things, 2 Sept 14

For the last two weeks, anytime I’ve been running late and had to blow dry my hair, I’ve simultaneously done my makeup.

Is this a thing?

Am I late to the game?

If it is, it’s probably a good thing I waited to start until I was in my 30s.  I think perhaps my coordination has improved over the years.

Although, I’m probably just telling myself that…

No softball last night.

Will was visibly bummed.

The good news is that next Monday kicks off Monday night football.

The bad news is that next Monday kicks off Monday night football.

Football widowhood commences.

My sister and I have a terrible habit of planning super exciting things and never following through.

We’ve been talking about a sleepover for months and months but have never actually done it. It’s tentatively on the books for Saturday night. I bought the pancake mix and she’s got the ice cream. Fingers crossed.

I ate my weight in vegetables yesterday.
We got everything on the grill, and a few minutes into cooking, the propane went out.

Labor Day

Sooo, we ended up finishing everything in the oven. Half grilled, half baked. I feel there’s a joke somewhere in there?

I was supposed to go to the OU-Tulsa game with Will Saturday, but it’s a 10:00 kickoff, our seats were in full sunlight, and it’s going to be 97.

I don’t need to link to the hundreds of times I’ve mentioned how I pour from my head and.cant.stop.ever.

Thankfully Will’s dad took one for the team and is going in my place.

Everyone’s happy.

Back in March Will and I ordered a love seat, followed by its matching couch soon after.

When the love seat arrived this spring, I swore it looked darker than what we saw in the store.

Untitled

I checked online and confirmed there was only one color made in that style. So while I still swore it was darker, I figured the couch would bought had to be the same.

Nope.

The couch came in Sunday and was the original color we saw and wanted in the store.

The new (super duper long) couch

I’m not sure if you can tell in the picture, but the love seat is way darker.

I have no idea what happened, and it’s crazy the place still supposedly only makes one color in the style. Ughhhh, guys.

I realize I sound like a brat, but when you buy new furniture it should be what you want.

So yeah. Kind of a couch problem with no real remedy because there are no exchanges or refunds.

So if you ever come over? Please don’t say anything about the mismatched couches.

Any randomness you care to share?

The One with Labor Day, Sooner Football, & Look Ahead

Happy Labor Day!

Hopefully you’re off today enjoying an extended weekend like I am.

For that reason, today’s post is short and straight to the point.

A few highlights and a look at what’s ahead.

Something terrible happened Friday.

HALP ME

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER WHOOPIE PIES 😱
Considering I’ve talked about these puppies three times on the blog in the last two weeks, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner.

I brought a couple to my mom and Layla Friday afternoon and enjoyed special time with some of my favorite ladies!

At least someone likes my cooking

Saturday kicked off football! We headed to Norman and enjoyed Ted’s for lunch amidst a crowd of fellow fans.

The first game was hot as usual, but thankfully it was an evening game and (kind of) became more bearable.

OU LA Tech 30 Aug 14

So many freshman played throughout the game, and they looked so good! Hopefully good things to come all season!

We left early, which was nice. Instead of getting home at midnight, we beat the rush got home earlier.

Yesterday went just as quickly as Saturday. Gym, church, and lunch, followed by When the Game Stands Tall that afternoon (good movie!).

The couch we bought waaaay back in March was finally delivered to the store this week so they dropped it off last night. Yay!

And now another week begins.

I hoped today would be about relaxation, but sadly there’s lots of work to do! Yard work, washing the car, and a few more boring adult chores.

The fun of being a grown up. smile

I think we are also going to grill out with my parents later today so that’s nice, at least.

Hey, it’s nice to already be one day into the week, though, and get to spend it with my favorite people.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up this week!

-Tuesday Things
-My current leg work
-Things I’m loving
-A call to prayer (and an mini introduction)

Alright that’s it for now! Happy Monday. I’m off to de-poop the yard.

Such a glamorous life I lead.

31, Reflections, & A Look Ahead

Hello lovelies!

I realize it’s Monday, and we have a week ahead of us, however it doesn’t feel too bad this week because:

1. It’s my birthday, and
2. Will and I both get Good Friday off!

Not too shabby.

Before we get into all that, though, let me hit some of my weekend highlights!

Friday Will and I were both off and had a very productive day.

I made it to the gym before 7, so it wasn’t too busy. I enjoy not having to share equipment. smile

Then, got ready and was able to shop at the grocery store in peace, get a fancy (read: cheap) watch at a local jewelry shop, as well as run a couple more errands all while Will painted our spare bedroom!

Watch

Afterward, we went downtown to a glass shop to get a piece cut for our entertainment center. Then we went and saw Draft Day!

I’m sure you’re shocked we went to see a football related movie. Ha

Friday was a busy and productive day.

Saturday was full of fun and just as packed.

I got an early leg workout in at the gym, followed by a little time with my sister and Layla.

Afterward, I got ready and Will and I made a trip to Lowe’s, and then headed to Norman for the red and white game!

It was a big crowd Saturday, making it all the more exciting. After that decisive and epic victory over Alabama last season, I think we are all pumped and ready for football.

Red & white game

WB red and white game

After the game, I had Will take me to Cool Greens for my “birthday lunch.”

I’m a super cheap date. smile

We just bought another matching couch to accompany the one we just got in a few weeks ago, so I didn’t want to do anything over the top. Plus, honestly? It’s one of my favorite local places.

I got their skinny plaza salad. So, so good.

Afterward, we came home and had a relaxing and uneventful evening!

Yesterday I got to spend the morning with my family! I love them very much. We had a birthday breakfast, and Layla even sat by me which was a nice treat. smile

My sister got an action shot of us admiring artwork. haha

It's a Bird, it's a plane, it's a huge pic of food at Jimmy's Egg!

We missed church because breakfast was followed by a trip to Best Buy and a two hour nap (!!), so we will have to watch online this week.

The rest of the afternoon was far less exciting than the rest of the weekend, but it was really nice to relax and not do much!

I did, however, spend a couple hours in the kitchen prepping food for the week. More on that soon.

That afternoon I went over to my parent’s house and had birthday cake! I love my mom so very much. She made me the prettiest, springiest, most beautifully colored cake. smile

31

It was delicious.

So that was my weekend!

And here we are again.

And here I am, 31.

How did that even happen!?

Last year felt like a huge milestone, and I suppose it was. I felt old, but I also felt “official,” like I had finally come into my own.

I’ll leave you with a few random thoughts at the end of this post on life in the 30s this far, and would welcome your own comments, too!

But for now, let’s talk food this week.

This week we’re having:

-Vegetable lasagna (with zucchini as the noodles smile h
-Caprese salad
-Philly cheesesteak sandwiches (I’m having leftover lasagna)

Yum!

Now let’s talk posts.

This week we are talking about:

-How you just gained refrigerator rights
-Arms month continues! Sculpting sharp shoulders
-Thursday confessions
-How the Bible helps

So check in this week and don’t miss out!

I close with just a few random thoughts on the 30s (or lack thereof at times smile)

Share some of your own thoughts below! <3

1. I finally feel like I’ve arrived and have more of a seat at the table.

Unless it’s Thanksgiving with Will’s side of the family.

I’m pretty sure we will forever be at the kid’s table there.

2. I’m still terrible with directions.

And feel like I might always be.

3. I’m more comfortable with who I am, who I’m not, and who I want to be.

4. Oddly enough, I feel way more comfortable and less self conscious about my flaws. While I looked better in a bathing suit 10 years ago, I’d probably rock it with more confidence now.

5. I’m a better wife.

6. I understand the importance of rest and a day off work sometimes.

7. I finally understand God’s grace.

8. I’m (slightly) better at putting on fitted sheets.

9. If I want a giant spoonful of peanut butter, I’m going to eat a giant spoonful of peanut butter. I trust myself way more and no longer fear self-sabotage. It comes with understanding moderation.

10. I realize birthdays are far better than the alternative and therefore appreciate each passing year.

So there you go! Now let’s enjoy our Monday!

More to come…

The One Where the Tree Stayed Up & Look Ahead

Aaand, now we’re back to the totally predictable Monday updates.

I bet I don’t even need to give you guys one, right? In fact, I bet you could probably write these for me!.

But since we’re here, why mess with tradition?

Weekend update it is.

Friday was pretty boring. We had a late night Thursday because of the OU Sugar Bowl victory (and I’m still pretty pumped about it), which naturally meant we oldies were tired all day Friday.

That meant an early night! Seriously- a really early one. Like before 9.

I’m so old.

Saturday came early, since Will put in a few hours. That usually means I hit the gym and clean the house before he gets home. However, this week was a little unique compared to most (and I plan on sharing sometime soon), so no workout that day.

I actually ended up going back to sleep all the way until 8! It felt really good. I was pretty wiped and needed the rest.

I got up and managed to vacuum, dust a couple things, and get a load of laundry started.

Afterward, I got around and headed to the salon to get my hair done.

I love these days, aside from the time it takes. I prefer to go on a weeknight, but my stylist is having a baby this week so I was glad she could fit me in!

Same color as last time, a little on the darker side compared to the blonde-blonde I sported most of last year. It felt so good to get fresh brows, too! They needed a wax.

Red just waxed eyebrows and all.

New hair

By the time I got done, I was well into my Saturday.

I came home and watched the Army All American Game to see if OU picked up any recruits. There was one kid in particular they wanted (as well as 50 other schools!), so Will was glued to the TV.

I think we were both pretty surprised when he put on an OU hat! So exciting for the program. Between that and the Sugar Bowl, it was a good week to be an OU fan. smile

Afterward, we went straight into the Colts playoff game, which was a bit of a nail-biter! So glad they squeaked by.

After the Colts, it was the Eagles and Saints. Saturday should just be labeled, “Football Saturday.” Because really, that’s pretty much all we did. I managed to get a little multitasking accomplished and posted on Saturday too. What?

I know, right?

What I didn’t do, however was this:

Defluffed, but still out. Good thing I decided not to stop procrastinating in the new year

Pathetic.

Good thing I decided not to stop procrastinating in the new year.

As you can see, I did manage to de-fluff and get it ready for dismantlement.

But that was it.

One more week is okay, right?

Don’t answer that.

We woke up to a light dusting of snow yesterday!

Snow! And dogs

Because of the late football game, we missed Saturday night church, which meant Sunday instead.

We made a quick trip downtown, placed a deposit down on the couch we want to reserve it when it finally comes in, and had lunch at Ted’s.

Pretty productive I’d say, despite the whole leaving the tree up part, of course.

The rest of Sunday was devoted to prepping meals, laundry, and blogging.

We’re very exciting.

Meals this week are finally totally back to normal now that we’re past New Year’s week.

This week we’re having:

-Eggplant parmigan

-Jambalaya

-Chicken fried rice (we have that a lot around here. smile)

Workouts are the same as usual, and it feels good to hit all the muscle groups this week!

-Monday-Off

-Tuesday- Boot camp cardio

-Wednesday- One of my at-home workouts

-Thursday- Off

-Friday- Back, Biceps, Shoulder Abs

-Saturday- Legs & Abs

-Sunday- Chest, triceps, shoulders

And posts? I didn’t forget about those.

This week we’ll be talking about

-Sweet treats

-Getting out of our fitness comfort zones in the New Year

-Managing our pies

and more!

So check in tomorrow. Until then? Let’s tackle this first week we have without a holiday.

because sometimes, i just feel like posting on a saturday

Hi!

It’s Saturday. Why am I posting?

There are a lot of times when I’m working on content for my blog when I just sort of don’t feel like writing.

It feels too scripted, too structured. On those days (like this one), I just sort of want to ramble.

Is that okay? Can I just ramble a little today?

Actually, I’m sorry to say you don’t get a vote in here.

I’m rambling, it’s happening.

In fact, when I go back and look at my posts throughout the years, some of my favorite were the ones I sat down to write having absolutely zero direction. They were long, wordy, and slightly overkill, but they always (um, well mostly) came back full circle.

Let’s hope that happens today.

Ha, who am I kidding? I’m 30. Of course I can wrap this package up all nicely with a clear underlying message.

Actually, I’m lying.

So I’m camped out on the couch half watching the Colts game with Will, but mostly posting the post you’re reading right this second.

It’s already the end of my first weekend day, and I’m looking at my to do list wondering what the heck happened.

Because the answer is nothing. Nothing happened.

Remember those January Blues?

Let’s blame those.

And it’s not like I had a huge to-do list this weekend, either.

I just simply decided to go on strike, and oddly enough? I’m only hurting myself.

Haha- please tell me you just heard your mom’s voice In your head when I said that?

I would tell you some of the stuff I put off, but I figure I better leave something to discuss Monday. Teaser!

I can’t even blame my lack of motivation on the cold weather. That’s not here until Monday!

So are some of you guys hunkered down in the miserable cold that is crossing the country? Please tell me you’re wearing fuzzy socks, parked on the couch, and watching a movie, reading, or painting your nails.

Even if you’re not, can you please say you did? My ego can’t handle how productive you’ve been this weekend.

Thanks.

Can we please talk about how my blog readership skyrocketed the last couple months? Hey, it’s neither here nor there that the majority of those visitors were courtesy of spam out of China, but hey- perhaps they value my workouts or vegan friendly recipes?

Probably not.

Or let’s talk about how sad I am Will is going to be now that college football is basically over? Thankfully we still have a few weeks of pro football left, but seriously? It’s like a funeral around here come February.

Thankfully we have the Thunder now to help band-aid poor Will’s sad football withdrawals.

Oh, and we also have a trip to plan too! The problem is that this trip is sort of on me this time.

I secretly like when Will makes most of the decisions, but this time? The decision is all mine.

We don’t want to make this trip a major vacation, but rather a trip where we can get away and relax but do it economically.

For that reason, I’m sort of leaning toward a cruise or all-inclusive package.

What do you guys think?

Will and I have never done an all-inclusive aside from our Honeymoon, but it was in the Poconos and I’m thinking this trip would be more beachy. I’ve been on a few cruises, but Will never has, so that’s another option too.

I wonder how he would do stuck on a boat for a few days, but then I realize I can waltz him to the lido deck and stick him in front of the ice cream machine, and God love him I know my love will be just fine.

I’ve asked around to a few people who have done both multiple times, and they say for this type of trip we ought to do an all-inclusive. Plus it’s our 10th anniversary this year and an all-inclusive is more adult friendly. Relaxing, quiet, less “stuff.”

I don’t know! I sure do love cruises… okay- you get to weigh in. what do you think? Oooor- is there a better option?

Sheesh, I hope you say no. I can’t do more options!

Okay…rambling getting long and now I feel like I should save some of these “gems” of conversation points for my “real” blog posts.

Okay, not true. But I do feel like I should be getting those darn things ready today!

Let’s do that.  Ramble over (for now).

What are you doing this weekend?

The One Where I Got “Snowed In” & A Look Ahead

Untitled

Hi friends! Do you see that!?

It’s snow!

I realize some of you may see it all winter, but it’s a rarity here and I relish taking tons and tons of pictures when it finally surprises us here in Oklahoma.

We typically get ice and not a lot of snow.

This?

Is snow.

Love it.

I ended up leaving work early Thursday afternoon and set up shop at the house because of it. I woke up to snow Friday morning and news of closings everywhere because of the dangerous roads.

That meant I got a work from home day!

It was so so SO nice to be able to work from the house. I see why so many companies allow their employees to flex their time between the office and home.Such a morale booster.

I nested the entire weekend. It was ridiculous!

I made a pie, cookies, soup, jalepeno poppers, queso, and tamale pies.

Pretty crowned cookies. Snow storm nesting.

Oh, and can I please back up a moment to tell you about the Wednesday that led me to an enjoy this snowy weekend and all that cooking?

Thanks.

So anytime there’s a threat for icy or snowy conditions here, the entire state flips out…me included.

Since I was in Colorado the weekend before for Thanksgiving, I hadn’t made it to the store for about 10 days. Our cupboards were getting pretty bare and I knew if the weather it and we were stuck inside for a few days we’d be in trouble.

Soooo, I braved Walmart Wednesday night alongside heaps of crazy suburban women fighting for the last loaf of bread and bag of Oreos.

Hey, I don’t judge. I’m pretty sure Oreos would be great when you’re snowed in.

Only I wouldn’t know since that wench ahead of me violently ripped them out of my hands!

Okay, only kidding, but seriously. The place was a ZOO.

Carts everywhere. Bread nowhere.

Yep, gonna snow a couple inches in Oklahoma

And I spent a fortune. Between a bare fridge and planning to be stuck inside for a few days, no doubt Walmart had even more stellar sales than usual.

Anyway, I was prepared. Bring on the snow!

And the snow did not disappoint.

And I thanked the good Lord by staying inside my house all weekend.

No really- all weekend.

Okay wait, I did get out.

To go a couple doors down to see my family.

To do very important things.

Snow day: when important stuff happens

Such as touching up Layla’s masterpieces.

Moving along to Saturday.

Poor Will had to work both Friday and Saturday. I was pretty annoyed about the whole thing, I mean- hello! It’s bad out there. He works in oil and gas, and if it freaking dropped three feet of snow, they would probably still make everyone come in.

Will only worked part of the morning, so that gave me some time to get stuff done.

Since it was still icy and snowy, I kept my workout at home.

I did the Insanity Max Interval Circuit. It was a good workout, but I missed really hitting my legs like I normally do on Saturday. It has now been two weeks since I’ve worked legs in the gym! I’m sort of going through withdrawals.

Afterward, I cleaned the house. It felt so good! It had been a few weeks between Thanksgiving and the last OU game. I felt very accomplished. Haha

Then Will was home just in time for Bedlam!

Oh man, please tell me some of you guys caught the Bedlam game!?

It was crazy!!

OSU was favored to win my double digits, so I was already psyching myself up for a loss.

But seriously guys- please tell me you at least know how it finished? It was close the whole entire game, and then in the last two minutes, OU took it all the way down to score a touchdown in the last minute, and not only that, but when OSU took over possession we intercepted their pass and took it down for another one!

Crazy.

Will? Totally flipped out.

I had a hard time watching most of the second half.

I have no idea why.

Focused on channeling the sooners

When we won we were both standing in that position and totally jumped up and down like complete fanatics.

And I suppose we are.

Haha

Anyway, excellent game!

The rest of Saturday was full of watching lots of good football as well as food prep.

It’s amazing now nice it is to “have” to stay indoors sometimes. I got so much accomplished.

Yesterday was much of the same. The main roads were fine, but hey, the residential ones weren’t.

I fit in another workout, and the rest of the day was spent on the couch getting posts ready for the week, watching football with Will, and doing a little more food prep for the week ahead.

In fact, here’s a look at what we will be having for dinner this week:

-Tamale Pies (recipe this week!)

-Vegan Potato Soup (recipe soon!)

-BLTs for Will, Broiled Eggplant for Me

For workouts this week, I plan on getting back on track at the gym since Thanksgiving and the weather kept me away.

-Monday off

-Tuesday at home plyo

-Wednesday- Back, biceps, shoulders (plus abs & calves)

-Thursday- off

-Friday at home cardio/plyo

-Saturday- Leg/cardio circuit (plus abs & calves)

-Sunday- Chest, triceps, shoulders (plus abs)

- Tamale Pies for cold winter days

- Should you add new workout wear to your last minute list this year?

-Thursday Things

-Friday Favorites

Alright, your turn. What did you do this weekend?
